BCD Electro “Goes Google” With Help From VIP Clouds

BCD Electro, a prominent electronics recycling company, has learned how to utilize Google Mail in order to better serve their customers
Carrollton, TX, United States of America (sardnews.org) 31/08/2011
Dallas, TX ( sardnews ) August 29, 2011 - Going green, recycling, and saving the environment have become major topics of discussion within the last few years. More and more companies are doing what they can to recycle old materials that they are no longer using. One of the hardest things to recycle is electronic parts. Because electronic parts are usually a combination of metal and plastics, it can be difficult for a company to find a cost effective way to dispose of these no longer needed components. Luckily, BCD Electro makes it easy for companies to recycle their old electronic parts while helping to reduce the tons and tons of waste that goes into our landfills each year.

Bob Harris Jr., son of BCD Electro's founder Bob Harris Sr. and President of the company, heads up the managerial team. When BCD Electro was first started, the company specialized in serving the needs of ham radio enthusiasts from miles around. Electronic ham radio parts were sold through a newsprint catalog. However once Bob Harris Jr. took over, the newsprint catalog was transformed into a digital format. Unfortunately, ham radio parts started being manufactured by offshore companies, making it too expensive for BCD Electro to continue being a supplier. The business was then transformed into an electronics recycling company and has blossomed ever since. Many companies have come to rely on BCD Electro in order to recycle their old electronic parts. With progress came the need to have a system to keep electronic correspondence organized and at the ready. At first, Bob Jr. thought it would be a great idea to have everyone on the same e-mail system so he purchased a website package which gave him a set of e-mail addresses that could be assigned to various members of the staff. The e-mail system worked fine, but over time Bob eventually discovered that the system wasn't as flexible in adapting to the company’s growing needs as he was lead to believe. After much consideration Bob decided that the company needed an e-mail system that was a little more robust and versatile. Bob had heard of Google Apps for Business and a few members of the staff had mentioned to him about all the wonderful things that could be done with Google’s Enterprise System, Google Apps for Business. At first, Bob reached out to BCD Electro’s existing website hosting company to inquire about migrating to Google Apps for Business, but never received responses to his inquiries. Bob took it upon himself to look elsewhere in order to get the help he needed. That's when Bob discovered VIP Clouds.

VIP Clouds is an Authorized Google Apps Reseller that specializes in setting up Google Apps for Business for companies in the Dallas, TX area. This was perfect for Bob who had wanted to find someone local to him. Shane Walker, CEO of VIP Clouds was able to meet with Bob and his staff in order to find out what they were needing in regards to applications to help streamline their business. Bob informed Shane that they really needed an e-mail system that was easy to use and also kept them connected to each other. Shane suggested that Bob and his company use Google Mail (Gmail) since it would allow the company to be able to better organize their e-mail, was easy to use, and the company could transfer their existing e-mails into Gmail easily, and seamlessly. While most of the staff was enthusiastic about making the change over, there were some staffers that were a bit resistant about making such a big change. Having used the same e-mail system for such a long time, it was understandable that some of the staff would not want to try something new.
