Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has produced a new video on how to save money on home energy bills by avoiding vampire currents. When electronic items such as televisions, gaming devices, and satellite receivers are plugged in, they are actually in "standby" mode and still drawing electricity even when they are turned off. This type of power usage, called "vampire current," contributes to higher electricity bills.

The video features the Smart Plug Meter, developed by Future Energy Solutions (a division of Future Electronics), which embeds energy management and control so consumers can configure their home appliances to turn on and off, in order to save money on their home energy costs.

Home energy measurement, power consumption measurements, load measurements, wireless house automation and load control in smart homes and smart buildings are becoming increasingly important steps toward saving energy and reducing costs, and are all made easy by using the Smart Plug Meter.

Richard Ankcorn, Strategic Business Manager for Future Energy Solutions at Future Electronics, explains, "Vampire currents consume a lot of energy, and serious measurements must be taken to save on the unnecessary daily loss of energy in our homes. This video shows how the Smart Plug Meter can help people saving money on their home energy bills by eliminating vampire currents."
